How to hide a user account from login

Sometimes you have to have an account on your computer that you don’t plan to ever log in too and would want to hide that account from the login screen.

First if you haven’t create the account on the computer (either by using the windows gui ) or by creating it through cmd. (if the account is already created skip to Second step.

Cmd commands:

net user username Passw0rd /add

net localgroup Administrators username /add

Note: username can be replaced with the desired username , same with Password. Administrators can be replaced with desire group like guest or user. Also don’t forget if you change the username in the first line to change it in the second.

Second,

go to start > search regedit > and run regedit.

In regedit go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList

if, once you get to Winlogon theres no Special accounts folder right click Winlogon >New>key and type “SpecialAccounts” then right click SpecialAccounts >New>key and type “UserList

In UserList folder rightlick > New > Dword Value (32 bit) > and then name it the name of the account you want to hide.

leave the value 0 for hidden or put 1 if you wish to show it in the login screen.

and there you have it. The account is hidden from the login screen.
